The Sporting Kansas City Match Presentation Intern promotes Sporting Kansas City to ensure a memorable fan experience at all home Sporting KC matches. The Match Presentation Intern assists the Director of Marketing and Team with match day activations and implementation of live event Promotions; playing an active role in building awareness and excitement for Sporting Kansas City. Additionally, this individual will contribute to the development and management of Sporting Kansas City games and events with a goal of creating a unique, entertaining and fan-friendly event experience.


  • Represent Sporting Kansas City, Children’s Mercy Park and other affiliates and partners at all home matches.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of all in-game elements including, talent bookings, acts for halftimes, in-stadium promotions, pre and post-game activities, anthems, mascot and game staff.
  • Assist in the coordination of in-stadium elements with a focus on fan interactivity during pre and post-game time, including Plaza activities, concourse activities and in-game activations.
  • Be involved with the creation and development of in-game and in-stadium entertainment including on-field promotions, fan interactive elements and mascot skits.
  • Serves as a member of the Sporting Kansas City Game Night Staff for all Sporting KC home matches.
  • Serves as assistant for mascot appearances and game duties as management sees fit.
  • Assists the Director of Marketing and stadium staff to ensure all game night needs are met, including back of house room allocation and setup, scoreboard operations and premium handout distribution.
  • Set up, take down and activate gameday duties as assigned.
  • Engage fans by developing a rapport in a short time through natural dialogue.
  • Attend and participate in monthly meetings.
  • Perform essential functions with confidence.
  • Be responsible for managing crowds, as necessary.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, operations, sports management, event planning or other related field with the ability to receive college credit is required.
  • Prior experience with event production, promotions and/or game presentation preferred.
  • Highly involved with college campus organizations and events.
  • Proven leadership abilities and skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Kansas City market.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bilingual speaking abilities preferred.
  • Web or HTML experience preferred.
  • Must have personal computer and access to the Internet.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
