POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Windy City Bulls are the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls and are excited to be entering their second season at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, IL.

The Windy City Bulls are seeking a creative and dedicated individual to serve as a Communications Intern this season. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about gaining communications experience in the sports industry. As the Communications Intern, you will have the opportunity to assist and support the Community Relations team with game day activities, community appearances, and more during the 24-game season.

This position is scheduled to start October 1, 2017 and end March 31, 2018 and individuals will work an average of 30 hours per week. In this role, you will report directly to the Community Relations & Communications Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Communications Intern, you will be part of a dynamic team. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assist with planning, developing, and executing all communications activities.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a robust social media marketing plan and e-mail marketing plan, including tracking data and effective follow-up marketing opportunities.
  • Assist with handling all website content and updates to ensure accuracy of the team's website.
  • Perform data entry to grow the organizationís various sales databases.
  • Participate in providing great customer service experiences to all guests of the organization both on and off-site.
  • Prepare, create, and distribute Corporate Partnerships re-caps and reviews.
  • Assist in the set-up of game-day activations.
  • Actively participate in community appearances.
  • Assist in managing various game day employees.
  • Assist in organizing and distributing all media credential requests.
  • Serve as a liaison for local media personnel on game days to ensure information requests from home and visiting broadcasters and media are satisfied.
  • Coordinate all media requests for athletes and coaching staff, as requested.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Current college student or recent college graduate with a degree in communication, sports management or business administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Proficient in the professional use of all social media, including Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to concisely and accurately convey information in a variety of different formats.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    We are seeking individuals who are able to work a flexible schedule which includes working nights, weekends and holidays.
