Athletic Communications Intern / College Sports

Miami University is currently accepting applicants for an Athletic Communications Intern for the 2017-2018 school year. This will begin Aug. 1 and set to run through May 31, 2018.

This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

Duties/Physical Demands:

Serve as the primary media contact for field hockey, softball and swimming & diving.

Assist in all areas of publicizing the accomplishments of the athletic teams and department.

Assist with the gameday staffing and SID coverage for various home athletic events.

Provide content for the Miami Athletics website (www.MiamiRedHawks.com) and social media outlets.

Assist with the organization of archival information, records, photos, statistics.

Assist Coordinator of New Media in various projects.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working in an intercollegiate sports information office

Candidates should be highly motivated and energetic with an attention to detail and accuracy

Strong writing and editorial skills

Bachelor's Degree

Time management skills with the ability to work evenings and weekend hours with some travel

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and other desktop publishing programs

Experience with the Stat Crew software program, particularly input capabilities

Strong social media background is a major plus
