IT Programming Intern / Sports Equipment

Callaway Golf, a global producer of premiere, state-of-the art golf clubs and balls, seeks engineering students to work on a small, hands-on team, helping to support, document, and test integrated software and hardware systems. The intern will also be given ownership of a specific project, requiring a 1 on 1 weekly meeting with a mentor. The intern will also be responsible for two major presentations to the entire group (Project Update and Project Findings/Solution).

Callaway Golf is located in Carlsbad, California. No relocation assistance provided for this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Programming classwork and experience: C#, .net, mpu/firmware exposure, Unity
  • Fluency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Good communication skills, able to work in a team environment, able to multi-task
  • Must possess high initiative and ability to be self-motivated with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of and basic abilities in the game of golf is highly desirable

    Education and/or Experience

  • Currently matriculated Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering student with exposure to computer science with at least 3 full years coursework completed into Bachelorís degree
  • Previous engineering-related internship or prior experience preferred, but not required

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research in finding Electronic/IoT solutions with IT R&D Team
  • Researching feature viability for Electronic/IoT products
  • Creating documentation for existing systems
  • Building Support Infrastructure
  • Present technical results and recommendations in a clear and concise manner through reports or oral presentations
  • Researching feature viability
  • Learning and contributing to the Callaway software development cycle.
  • Designing and administering comparative tests.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Currently matriculated Computer Science, Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering student with exposure to computer science with at least 3 full years coursework completed into Bachelorís degree
  • Previous engineering-related internship or prior experience preferred, but not required
