Retail Graphic Design Intern / Sports Equipment
The Retail Graphic Designer Intern will be responsible for executing graphics for the K-State Super Store and GTM Store along with developing templates for future needs. This intern will have exposure to multi-media advertising, design, and social media and will work with the Retail team, manager and director in the Retail department to understand how the K-State Super Store team interacts with other GTM teams to get results! This position will have the opportunity to learn about other business functions by shadowing other departments and will work on a job specific training program within the Retail department. Excellent intern performance could lead to an extended internship or full-time employment. Candidate must be Self-sufficient and creative designer, seeking experience in branding and graphic execution. Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Graphic Design or related field.
1-2 years of graphic design experience, or combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Strong attention to detail
Strong problem solving and decision –making skills and ability to effortlessly multi-task while working in a fast paced team environment
Excellent communication skills, especially visual communication
Thorough understanding of the design process, and working knowledge of digital photography
Ability to work collaboratively with a number of individuals at numerous professional and experience levels
Able to meet deadlines and pro-actively seeks solutions.
Standard office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, multi-line phones, and audio/visual equipment. Use of automobile may be required; personal vehicle may be used provided user claims full responsibility of vehicle and actions. Rental vehicle or company vehicle may be used in lieu of using personal vehicle. Also, specific warehouse equipment will be used, such as radio frequency guns, and forklifts.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to sit, reaching with hands and arms, and demands of frequent squatting, bending, twisting. Must be capable of climbing to set up displays and retrieve merchandise. This will include occasionally working from heights. The individual must also be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch as well as stand for long periods of time. Specific demands also include the ability to see in color as well as to talk to and hear customers and staff. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift/carry boxes weighing approximately up to 25 pounds.
